During the GENERAL STRIKE on May 1st send a message to corrupt billionaires: No Work. No School. No Shopping.
Picnic with your neighbors instead!
Bring a blanket and food to share. We will “plant” giant handmade flowers next to each blanket and create a hopeful spring art installation.
From ancient rights of spring to the fight for an eight-hour workday May Day has long been a call for a General Strike. This Strike Picnic weaves celebration, art and resistance together while providing a landing pad for striking workers and students.
At 4:30pm we will pack up and create a “moving garden” procession that will march to Church Ave and Ocean Parkway in Kensington, Brooklyn for our weekly celebration of liberty at Freedom Friday.
Bring a flower, (Here’s a DIY video and inspiration https://youtu.be/KsOmJAWbezs?si=vM-bkHtqSRhD5T5X), food to share, instruments and games.
Let's gather and grow something new!
