Signs of Hope

Focus on what we want. ~ Jessica Craven

I had a dream the night after the 2024 election. I saw thousands of giant eyes marching down the street to elevate the humanity of "We the People".  I have made eyes for marches before and they are very effective as a fun, poignant and striking visual. The first time I made them was for The Women’s March in DC, 2017. The next march is MAY DAY STRONG, 5-1-25, you can sign up here : https://www.mobilize.us/mayday/

I am interested in inclusive messaging, to all Americans. I have made art and led art builds for marches and actions since 2003. The feeling of community while creating the art and marching is a wonderful thing, the act of doing those two things generates courage, hope and defends our democracy. I hope you'll be inspired by this work, make your own signs (please use any ideas you find here!) and go to many marches and actions. Social proof —the idea of showing (not just saying) that you are defending our freedoms and democracy is the best way to “fabulously fight fascism” as strategist Anat Shenker Osorio says. If you can’t protest, I hope you'll find another way to engage in the struggle for a free America.
